DRZ400 dies after being ridden
« on: February 16, 2017, 02:22:04 AM »
Hi, new to the site and DRZ's.  I purchased a secondhand 2014 that is setup as a motard. I Rode it 470kms home from the owner and it never missed a beat until I was about 5KMS from home when it suddenly died.  I assumed it had ran out of petrol.  So after I had pulled off the road I flicked to reserve and was back on my way.  I had only done around 145KMs on that tank, while prior I had done 170KMs and 150KMs on the previous tanks.
I took it for a ride on the weekend and rode about 20KMs when it suddenly died again.  Flicked to reserve and was off again headed for home, but after about another 5KMs it died again.  I switch back to fuel and it fires up and got me home.  I am starting to think I got some dud fuel.....so I am going to drain the tank.
Or does anyone else have other suggestions ?

Sounds like you may have some kinda restriction, check any fuel filters if any,or you may have a plugged up petcock.
